Street and Road Maintenance
The DPW provides snow removal, shoulder maintenance, pothole patching, public sidewalk and curb repair, and signage services for 6.68 miles of major streets and 11.05 miles of local streets.
Water Infrastructure
The Village of Chesaning's water system includes 3 wells connected to 16 miles of pipe and one 300,000 gallon water tower.

Hydrant Flushing
You may have noticed open hydrants around town with water gushing. This is a mandated requirement of the water system. Pipes holding water over time build deposits causing water quality problems. This occasional flushing is to prevent such from occurring. Hydrant flushing is usually done during the night in order to least impact the users.
